1937 - 5th Jamboree - Vogelenzang, Bloemendaal, Netherlands
The 5th Jamboree was held in Vogelenzang / Bloemendaal in Holland under the sign of the Jacob's staff in 1937. Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands opens the Jamboree. The theme was "Small means big effect". 27'000 scouts (female scouts were not allowed to participate) from 51 nations were present when Robert Baden-Powell (81 years) greeted the scouts of the world for the last time. His farewell words were: "For me now is the time of farewell. I would like you to lead a happy life. You know that many of us never meet in this world again..."
The 2nd World War prevented all international activities of the World Scout.
